Info sought in agricultural equipment thefts in Hakalau

Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects in two thefts of agricultural equipment in Hakalau.

During the evening hours of Thursday, Sept. 30, unknown persons removed two water pumps from one location. From another location, they took a harvester commonly used to harvest sweet potatoes.

The equipment had a combined value of $17,000.

Police ask that anyone with information about the items or the persons responsible for taking them call Officer Donovan Kohara or Officer Clive Okino at the Police Department’s non-emergency line, 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 or 329-8181.
