3.9M earthquake near Pahala Sunday (Oct 3)

A minor earthquake occurred at 9:39:28 AM (HST) on Sunday, October 3, 2010 .
The magnitude 3.9 event occurred 5 km (3 miles) W of Pahala.
The hypocentral depth is 36 km (22 miles).

AN EARTHQUAKE HAS OCCURRED WITH THESE PRELIMINARY PARAMETERS

ORIGIN TIME – 0939 AM HST 03 OCT 2010
COORDINATES – 19.2 NORTH 155.5 WEST
LOCATION – ON THE SOUTHEASTERN FLANK OF MAUNA LOA
MAGNITUDE – 4.0

EVALUATION

NO TSUNAMI IS EXPECTED. REPEAT. NO TSUNAMI IS EXPECTED. HOWEVER…SOME AREAS MAY HAVE EXPERIENCED SHAKING.

    here in Hawi (Hawai’i) @ 700′ level, I felt it.
    9:39am. was lying on the floor of my hale
    & the hale shook twice very fast . . .
