MEDIA RELEASE

Join partners Hawaii Island Humane Society and PetCo at Kona Commons 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28 for Adoptathon 2010.

“We are so thankful that PetCo offered to help bring awareness to our need for donations of pet food and money while also providing their high-traffic venue for pet adoptions,” said HIHS executive director Donna Whitaker. “Jacob, our fund development manager, has been working with the great folks at PetCo to plan an exceptional day for everyone.”

HIHS will have an array of pets ready for their forever homes. There will be face painting, arts and crafts for keiki, a Microchip clinic, Humane Education and Ask a Vet booths, HIHS logo item sales and fun two-legged and four-legged contests for everyone.

You’ll be able to register or pledge on site for the Oct. 30 Hilo Pet Walk and Oct. 31 Kona Pet Walk, donate to the pet food drive, and more.
