School-by-school results for 2010 Hawaii State Assessment

MEDIA RELEASE

The state Department of Education has released the results of the 2010 Hawaii State Assessment and preliminary Adequate Yearly Progress reports.

“Despite economic challenges and pressures, Hawaii’s public schools continue to move forward and defy the odds as demonstrated by this year’s assessment scores and Adequate Yearly Progress results,” said Interim Superintendent Kathryn Matayoshi. “We salute our students and educators and celebrate the commitment of parents and the community to education in our state.

“Looking forward, we will focus our efforts on implementing education reforms that link high quality college- and career-ready standards and assessments to a statewide curriculum, improve longitudinal data collection and use, cultivate great teachers and leaders, and provide targeted support to struggling schools and students.

“Accountability at all levels will be crucial in ensuring our graduates are successful in meeting the challenges of a global economy.”
