Fire damages $20M home in Kaupulehu

Fire/rescue crews responded to a 1:07 a.m. alarm Friday (July 23) to 72-0208 Wailulu Street in Kaupulehu for a structure fire. The homeowner was home at the time and was awoken by a fire alarm and saw the flames outside his front entrance.

Upon arriving Hawaii County Fire Department crews found that security from the Four Seasons Resort along with resort volunteer firefighters had extinguished the blaze. The fire charred the exterior slate siding near the front entrance of the home with damage estimated at $5,000 and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is reported to be undetermined.
