‘In the Footsteps of Kamehameha’ trail culture course (Aug. 28-Nov. 20)

Follow in the footsteps of Kamehameha and other alii of this era. Explore Hawaiian history and cultural sites associated with Hawaiian royalty along the trails in Kona and Kohala.

Hawaii Community College at the UH Center – West Hawaii is offering the course HWST 119 – Hawaii Island Trail Culture with instructor E. Kalani Flores.

Course is scheduled for eight Saturdays (Aug. 28, Sept. 11, Sept. 18, Sept. 25; Oct. 9, Oct. 23; Nov. 6 and Nov. 20) from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Activities include moderate hiking. No pre-requisites to enroll in this course. Students can earn 3 college credits or audit the class. Also, consider applying for many of the other courses being offered in West Hawaii. Register before Aug. 1 for the fall semester.
