Public’s help needed to identify suspect in credit card theft case

MEDIA RELEASE

Suspect caught on video using stolen credit card

Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a credit card theft case.

In early May, the victim reported that someone was accessing her financial account at a local bank in Hilo and withdrawing funds without authorization.

During the course of the investigation, police recovered video surveillance depicting a woman approaching the ATM and using it to make the unauthorized withdrawals. She appears to be wearing a light blue long-sleeved top, khaki pants and sunglasses and carrying a tan shoulder bag.

Police ask that anyone with information on her identity call Officer Aaron Yamanaka 961-2213.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 392-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
