The road to riches is paved with aluminum at 5 cents a can

The roadway to the Hilo landfill was paved with aluminum cans Monday afternoon (July 12) after a truck transporting the redeemed cans from the recycle center accidentally spilled the load of cans. Workers from the truck were collecting the cans from the roadway and shoulder. Photography by Baron Sekiya | Hawaii 24/7.

    I was coming in the opposite direction of the truck when cans started spilling out. From the height they came out they were bouncing off the road. I rolled up the car window so none would come in. At that point the cans came in alongside of the truck driver & he pulled over. Fortunately no one was driviing behind him. After this experience I bet he triple checks every load is secure.
