Fire/rescue crews responded to a 4:27 p.m. alarm for a structure fire in Hawaiian Acres at the corner of Moho Road (Road 8) and Kea Street (Road B) Thursday (July 8).
Arriving fire crews found a majority of the fire being extinguished by a neighbor with a garden hose. The fire was in a 20×20 foot area under the raised home. There was some fire damage to the interior of the home which firefighters extinguished along with remaining fire on the exterior.
The caused of the blaze was reported to be an unattended fire for heating water. Damage to the home was estimated to be $10,000.
