Ledward Kaapana plays in Kona at the Lead Center Friday (July 2)


The grand master of slack key, Big Island born Ledward Kaapana, will perform at the Lead Center on July 2nd 2010, 7:00 to 9:00pm. Kaapana captivates his audiences with his distinct baritone and leo ki‘eki‘e (falsetto) voices and has won the Favorite Entertainer Award at the 2009 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards. He has also earned numerous Grammy Award nominations.

Doors open at 6:00PM. Tickets are available Kona Brothers Coffee, Da Poke Shack, Waimea Music Exchange, on line at or at the LEAD Center. Keiki under 16 years of age are $15 door; all others $20 presale/$25 door.

This all age event marks the launch of a new website,, where the concert will be broadcast live worldwide and recorded in high quality sound for CD’s and DVD’s sold on the website.
