MEDIA RELEASE
Catholic Charities Hawaii is sponsoring two free light bulb exchanges this month.
The first will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, June 5, in front of the Rent-A-Center store at the KTA Shopping Center in Waimea.
The second exchange is 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, June 13, at the Palisades Pavilion on Kaiminani Drive (off Queen K Highway above the airport).
These exchanges are open to the public.
Families are invited to bring up to five old-style incandescent light bulbs to exchange free of charge for five CFL light bulbs. Catholic Charities is participating in the CFL Light Bulb Exchange Fundraiser Project offered by Blue Planet Foundation and The Kohala Center.
Catholic Charities Hawaii – Na Ohana Pulama (CCH-NOP) is a non-profit organization which offers therapeutic foster care for youth in Hawaii. CCH-NOP will receive $1 for every incandescent light bulb collected, which will provide funding for activities for youth ages 5 to 17 in the program.
