Witnesses on the scene said the makai boat ramp dock at Honokohau Small Boat Harbor collapsed at about 5:30 a.m. Sunday (May 23).

There were no reported injuries in the collapse.

Boat owners and recreational harbor users have long been concerned about deteriorating conditions and a lack of maintenance at the state facility.
