Bike to Work Week Tuesday (May 18)

MEDIA RELEASE

Aloha Big Island Cyclists –

Please join PATH and Mayor Billy Kenoi for a morning bike ride through Kailua Village streets to kick off Bike to Work Week on Tuesday May 18th starting at 7:00 am. Let’s show the Mayor what it’s like to ride a bike in Kona and show him how we can work together to make our town bike-friendly.

Come down to the PATH office at 75-5606 Pawai Place at the Brewery Block Makai Building, Bay 5. We will have coffee and refreshments starting at 7am, with the ride starting at 7:30am. We will ride through the industrial area, Kuakini Highway/Alii Drive back to PATH about 8:15am. This is a great opportunity to show the Mayor we are serious about making Kona and the island a safe and fun place to bike and convince him we need funding and support for bikeways and pathways.

Cyclists that wish to participate in the ride must know vehicular cycling rules and sign a waiver prior to the ride.

Your presence is most welcome for coffee, refreshments and fellowship that morning and riding a bike is optional.

We hope you will join us! Please Share this information with a cyclist you know!

PLEASE RSVP: Email laura@pathhawaii.org or call 936-4653 to let us know you’re able to make it.

Questions? Call Laura at 936-4653 or email laura@pathhawaii.org.

Directions to PATH: Take Pawai Place off of Kaiwi in the Kona Business Park (a.k.a Old Kona Industrial Area). Before you enter the Kona Brew Pub parking lot, take the last driveway on the right at the Old Crown Building (now the Brewery Block Makai Building). Proceed counter clockwise around the building, over several speed bumps. The PATH office is in Bay 5 on the Brewery side of the building.
