Film ‘One Night’ featured at Big Island Film Festival

MEDIA RELEASE

One Night, the first place winner of the September 2009 Showdown in Chinatown short film competition is officially selected to screen at the 2010 Big Island Film Festival, which celebrates independent narrative filmmaking.

Written and directed by Misa Tupou, One Night symbolically explores the new growth of Chinatown Honolulu through homelessness. The judging panel commented that One Night was “compelling throughout, [it] gave a great sense of Chinatown; [it] put [a] human face on homelessness”. Winning the Showdown event enabled One Night to screen at the 2009 Hawai’i International Film Festival.

At the Big Island Film Festival, One Night will screen at the Amphitheater at Fairmont Orchid Resort at 9:00am on Saturday May 15. For more information on One Night, please contact Misa on 808 721-6942.
