Jacob T. Moore has been selected to fill the newly created position of Fund Development Manager at Hawaii Island Humane Society.

Moore’s primary responsibility will be public and private grant writing and solicitation of foundation, corporate and government funding sources. He will also be responsible for event planning and execution.

“We feel fortunate to have found someone with Jacob’s background to fill this important position,” said Hawaii Island Humane Society Executive Director Donna Whitaker. “He brings proven fundraising skills to our organization at a critical time as we deal with funding cuts from the County of Hawaii coupled with ever increasing numbers of animals in our shelters.”

Moore, who lives in Kailua-Kona, was most recently project and development manager for Land Legacy Inc. in Oklahoma City before relocating to the Big Island.

He holds a B.A. in Psychology from Oklahoma State University and an M.A. in Psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma.

He is a self-professed animal lover who looks forward to affecting positive change in the Big Island community.
