Adding to the list of gala sponsors which include Territorial Builders/Nightingale Properties, Bank of Hawaii and the Holdcroft Charitable Trust are donations from a wide variety of businesses and individuals. Event-goers will have the opportunity to bid on everything from luxury vacations to handcrafted pen and pencil sets.

Want to go to Kona Bowl? Bid on it. Want to get out on the water on a Dan McSweeney whale watch cruise, Fair Wind Ocean Adventure, Captain Zodiac, Body Glove or Sea Quest excursion, or go beneath the surface with Atlantis Submarines? Bid on them. Want to dine at Huggos, Fish Hoppers, Merrimans, Roys, Bubba Gumps, Kilauea Lodge, Bamboo or Kona Inn restaurants? Bid. Redecorating? Bid on new artwork. Going to Honolulu? How about a stay at the Doubletree Alana and Sunday brunch at the Halekulani with travel via go! Airlines? From pizza certificates to B&B’s, a stay at Hilton Waikoloa Village or facials and massage, from jewelry to golf at Mauna Lani, Tropical Paws hosts one of the most extensive silent and live fundraising auctions on the island.

For sale during Tropical Paws will be fine koa and Hawaiian hardwoods, hand turned bowls, and one of a kind heirloom pieces such as an exquisitely crafted Koa curio cabinet made by Stan Gollaher.

Other pieces are being crafted for Tropical Paws by some of the island’s best woodworkers including Dan DeLuz, Ralph Michaelis, Robert Masuda, Don Albrecht, Tim Shafto, Herb Ishii, Larry Grodin, Gregg Smith and Jim Keenan.

A three-night stay in a beach villa at the Four Seasons Resort in Langkawi, Malaysia will go to the highest bidder. Set on Tanjung Rhu, one of the island’s best beaches in the tropical paradise of Langkawi, the Four Seasons combines indigenous architecture with gracious service in an unmatched resort experience.

And the newly renovated Sheraton Waikiki on famed Waikiki beach has donated a three-night stay in an oceanfront room. This donation, which will include roundtrip airfare, could be yours for the right price.

Purchase a blue Tiffany box for a nominal fee and you could be the lucky one soon wearing your choice of a Tiffany men’s or lady’s watch valued at $2,000.

In addition to thanks for the many donations received, thanks are also in order to Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, Big Island Television and Lyman Medeiros, Kona Brewing Co. for its offer to provide samples of handcrafted beers and Huggo’s Restaurant for its offer to serve Mai Tai’s during the reception.

Pat Batchelder will once again command the stage during the energetic live auction. Dance music post-dinner will be provided by Pacific Fusion.

Proceeds from the ‘pawsitively pawsome’ gala event help benefit our island’s animals and the many programs and outreach of the Hawaii Island Humane Society.

Tickets are $100 per person or $1,500 for a reserved table of 10 and are available at HIHS’s Keaau, Waimea and Kona shelters, at Alii Veterinary Hospital, from any HIHS Board Member or tickets may be purchased securely via PayPal online at www.HIHS.org
