Governor’s West Hawaii council features Morioka (April 28)

MEDIA RELEASE

The Governor’s Council of Neighbor Island Advisors for West Hawaii will meets 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 28 at the county Liquor Commission Conference Room, 75-5722 Hanama Place, Suite 1107, Kailua-Kona.

Brennon Morioka, director of the state Department of Transportation, will give an update and presentation on public infrastructure projects by the department’s three divisions: Highways, Harbors and Airports.

“The governor encourages the public to attend to share any comments or suggestions they may have regarding state government,” said Andy Smith, the governor’s West Hawaii liaison.

Gov. Linda Lingle created councils of neighbor island advisors to give neighbor island residents a stronger voice in state government. The Governor’s Council of Neighbor Island Advisors for West Hawaii holds monthly public meetings to seek community input, advise the Governor of important issues and make recommendations for state boards and commissions.

Members of the Governor’s West Hawaii Community Council are Rick Vidgen, Estela Halverson, Glennon Gingo, Elaine Watai, Jon Adams and Gunner Mench.

Anyone requiring special assistance or accommodations to participate at this meeting may call 327-4953.
