‘Cosmic Dawn’ lecture coming to Keck (April 8)

The public is invited to attend Keck Observatory’s April Astronomy Lecture, “Cosmic Dawn: The Quest for the First Galaxies,” presented by Dr. Richard Ellis on Thursday, April 8.

The program begins at 7 p.m. and will take place in Waimea at the W. M. Keck Observatory headquarters at 65-1120 Mamalahoa Highway. Seating is limited to first-come, first served.

Ellis, Steele Professor of Astronomy at the California Institute of Technology, will discuss his record-breaking discoveries of the most distant objects in the Universe and how his observations shape our understanding of the earliest stars and galaxies.
