Sponsors sought for Tropical Paws (May 14)

The 14th annual Tropical Paws benefit event is scheduled for Friday, May 14. Bank of Hawaii and the Holdcroft Charitable Fund have stepped forward as event sponsors and additional sponsors are sought.

Tropical Paws is Hawaii Island Humane Society’s most important fundraiser of the year. Silent and live auction donations and volunteers are also needed for the gala affair which returns to the elegant Four Seasons Hualalai Resort and will begin at 6 p.m.

In addition to Bank of Hawaii and the Holdcroft Charitable Fund, thanks are also in order for the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, Big Island Television and Lyman Medeiros, Kona Brewing Co. for their offer to provide samples of their handcrafted beers and Huggo’s Restaurant for their offer to serve Mai Tai’s during the reception. Go Airlines is contributing $1,000 in air travel to the silent auction and Pat Batchelder will once again command the stage during the energetic live auction. Dance music post-dinner will be provided by Pacific Fusion.

Tickets, $100 per person or $1,500 for a reserved table of 10, are now available at HIHS’s Keaau, Waimea and Kona shelters, at Alii Veterinary Hospital, from any HIHS Board Member, or, tickets may be purchased online at www.HIHS.org

Since its inception Tropical Paws has raised more than $450,000 to support vital programs offered by the Hawaii Island Humane Society including the Second Chance Fund and the Spay/Neuter Community Assistance Program.

The Second Chance Fund provides medical care and treatment for abused animals while they recuperate and become ready for adoption. The ongoing Spay/Neuter Community Assistance Program is committed to ending pet overpopulation on the Big Island and is in conjunction with concerted efforts centered around national Spay Day USA on Feb. 23.
