UH-Hilo’s Waracka named ‘Pitcher of the Week’

Amber Waracka has been named Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II National Pitcher of the Week for games played March 8-14.

The University of Hawaii at Hilo sophomore won all five games she appeared in on the week allowing no runs, 11 hits and just eight walks over 28.2 innings of work, as the Vulcans finished the week with a perfect 8-0 record. She limited her opponents to a miniscule .118 batting average on the week, while striking out 31 of them.

The sophomore from Kahuluu, Hawaii, tossed a no-hitter against Dominican (CA), a one-hitter vs. Dominican (CA) and a two-hitter against Notre Dame De Namur. Waracka notched four complete game shutouts last week and finished with a 0.00 ERA.
