Kealakehe greenwaste facility to close temporarily for repair

MEDIA RELEASE

The County of Hawai`i Department of Environmental Management operates a green waste mulching facility in Kona through a contract with Big Island EKO Systems, Inc. (EKO).

EKO will be conducting water system repairs at the County’s Kona Green Waste Mulching Facility located at the Kealakehe Recycling & Solid Waste Transfer Station.

In order to protect the safety of the public and complete the repairs in a timely manner, the facility will be closed on Friday, February 26, 2010. Repairs are anticipated to last all day and the facility is expected to reopen on Saturday, February 27, 2010.
