The 36-foot fishing boat Sammy Lu II was swept onto the rocks early Friday, Feb. 12 at the entrance to Honokohau Harbor.
Several witnesses said the boat got caught sideways by a wave as it was attempting to enter the harbor. The vessel spun around and smashed into the rocks on the north side.
It remained lodged there into Friday afternoon.
No injuries were reported and no oil or fuel was reported spilled.
