…HIGH SURF ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM HST THURSDAY…

SURF ALONG NORTH AND WEST FACING SHORES OF KAUAI AND NIIHAU… AND ALONG NORTH FACING SHORES OF OAHU…MOLOKAI AND MAUI WILL BE 10 TO 15 FEET TODAY…INCREASING TO HEIGHTS OF 15 TO 20 FEET TONIGHT.

SURF ALONG WEST FACING SHORES OF OAHU AND MOLOKAI WILL BE 8 TO 12 FEET TODAY…INCREASING TO HEIGHTS OF 10 TO 15 FEET TONIGHT.

SURF ALONG WEST FACING SHORES OF THE BIG ISLAND WILL BE 6 TO 8 FEET TODAY AND TONIGHT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A HIGH SURF ADVISORY INDICATES LARGE BREAKING WAVES AND STRONG RIP CURRENTS ARE EXPECTED ALONG THE AFFECTED SHORELINES.

SOUTHWEST TO WEST WINDS OVER THE SUMMITS OF MOUNT HALEAKALA… MAUNA KEA AND MAUNA LOA WILL STRENGTHEN TODAY…REACHING SPEEDS OF 30 TO 40 MPH WITH STRONGER GUSTS. THESE WINDY CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH TONIGHT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

THESE STRONG WINDS CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT…ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. PLEASE USE EXTRA CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
