Fairmont strikes gold with Conde Nast

According to Condé Nast Traveler’s Gold List, an annual reader’s choice poll, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts epitomizes the gold standard, with 11 of its world-class properties making the cut for 2010. Rated on criteria including location, activities, service and guestrooms, the list is based on magazine-subscriber votes.

The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii, luxury AAA Four Diamond resort located on the Kohala Coast of the Island of Hawaii earned and impressive score of 94.1. It was recognized for its white sand beach, open air-kitchen at Brown’s Beach House and its authentically local decor.

Representing Fairmont’s solid gold Canadian showing were Vancouver’s The Fairmont Waterfront and The Fairmont Vancouver Airport; The Fairmont Chateau Whistler; The Fairmont Empress in Victoria, British Columbia, The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in the Canadian Rockies, and Quebec’s Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu.

    I wonder how much Fairmont paid Conde Nast to be profiled? Its a pay to play game in the media these days. You wonder how Fairmont can get to be in the Gold since the properties they have been acquiring are 2-3 years old.
