A 32-year-old Hilo man was safely taken into custody Thursday night (January 28) following an approximately two-hour standoff with police. Around 10 p.m. Thursday, South Hilo Patrol Officers responded to a home on LanikÄula Street in the House Lots area of Hilo for a behavioral disturbance call.

The County of Hawaii announced today that beginning Monday, February 1, 2010, all State of Hawaii driver’s licenses will be issued with a new design. The last design change took place in January of 2005.
