Family Support Services of West Hawaii receives funding from Simpson Foundation

MEDIA RELEASE

Family Support Services of West Hawaii has received a gift of $20,000 from the John M. Simpson Foundation for ongoing support of its prevention and early intervention programs throughout the island of Hawaii.

As JoAnn Bishop Freed states, “Realizing the importance of the first few years of life and the value of relationships across the life-span, FSSWH has been increasing the capacity of its mission to support families and communities in providing love and care for our children.” FSSWH provides a continuum of family support and youth development services through its Family Resource Centers in Kona, Waimea, Na’alehu and Hilo.

These programs are designed to increase the developmental assets of each child and to ameliorate adverse childhood experiences. All of the programs of FSSWH are free of charge to children and families and are provided within their communities.
