MEDIA RELEASE
The University of Hawaii at Hilo dropped the consolation game of the Hawaii Challenge, 76-96, to Hawaii Pacific University in a game played in McCabe Gymnasium in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The Vulcans are 2-4 while the Sea Warriors are 4-3.
Bryan Ngo led the Vulcans with 17 points while Andrew Gipson and Justin Smith added 15 points each and Lavell Shipman had 10.
The Vulcans trailed by a pair of points at the break, 42-20. But they didn’t match the pace the Sea Warriors established in the second half. The Vulcans shot 47.2% (17-36) in the first half and hit 44% (11-25) in the second half.
The Sea Warriors were 19 of 37 (51.4%) in the first half while they hit 18 of 31 (58.1%) in the second half.
