THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HONOLULU HAS ISSUED A HIGH SURF WARNING…WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM HST WEDNESDAY.

SURF WILL BEGIN TO BUILD FRIDAY EVENING AND REACH HEIGHTS OF 20 TO 30 FEET WITH SETS UP TO 40 FEET ON OUTER REEFS ACROSS NORTH FACING SHORES ON SATURDAY. SURF ALONG WEST FACING SHORES WILL REACH 15 TO 20 FT SATURDAY. SURF HEIGHTS WILL REMAIN ABOVE WARNING LEVELS SATURDAY NIGHT AND FALL BELOW WARNING LEVELS SUNDAY. THE HIGH SURF…IN COMBINATION WITH HIGH TIDES WELL IN EXCESS OF 2 FEET JUST BEFORE SUNRISE SATURDAY MORNING WILL CAUSE WAVES TO WASH ONTO ROADS AND PROPERTY ALONG THE IMMEDIATE COAST. SURF HEIGHTS WILL REMAIN AT ADVISORY LEVELS SATURDAY NIGHT AND FALL BELOW ADVISORY LEVELS SUNDAY. A SECOND AND SIGNIFICANTLY LARGER SWELL WILL ARRIVE SUNDAY NIGHT AND PERSIST THROUGH WEDNESDAY.
