The Public Access Plan and the Decommissioning Plan were prepared in response to a condition by the Board of Land and Natural Resources when it approved the Comprehensive Management Plan (CMP) in April 2009.

The Public Access Plan will provide guidelines in managing public access within the UH Management Areas on Mauna Kea. The Decommissioning Plan establishes the process for eventual removal of observatories and site restoration.

The public is encouraged to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
