Waiaha River Coffee Co. wins People’s Choice award at Holualoa Coffee & Art Stroll

Nearly 2,000 visitors and local folk filled Holualoa Village on Saturday, November 7th, for the 11th annual Coffee & Art Stroll. a record thirty Kona coffee farms presented free samples of their finest brews during the 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. event and hundreds voted for their favorites. When the ballots were tabulated the winner was, once again, the Kunitake family’s Waiaha River Coffee Companies 100% Kona coffee. This is the third straight year that the Holualoa farm has won the popularity contest.

Coming in second was the Kona Coffee & Tea Company and third in the voting went to Heavenly Hawaiian Coffee. Nearly 350 people cast votes for the People’s Choice competition at the Holualoa Village Association information tent and at Kimura Lauhala Shop during the day.

The HVA and sponsors Kona Blue Sky Coffee and the Holualoa Inn will be hosting their next event, the 13th annual Music and Light Festival, on Saturday evening, December 5th, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. More information about the upcountry coffee and art town and their events is available on the Holualoa Village Association web site: www.holuloahawaii.com
