Public access to Kohala shore, Kawaihae Harbor on agenda (Nov. 8)

MEDIA RELEASE

The Kawaihae Local Resource Council meets 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8 at the Hamakua Macadamia Nut Company.

Arik Arakaki, National Park Service, and Larry Brown, county Planning Department, will discuss shoreline and trail access along coastal Kohala.

Davis Yogi, administrator of the state Department of Transportation, Harbors, will discuss potential changes in access to the ‘coral flats’ and harbor area for recreational users.

The Hamakua Macadamia Nut Company is approximately 1/2mile north of Kawaihae on Akoni Pule Highway.
