Police asking for public’s help in Hilo car theft

The Hawai’i Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in an auto theft investigation. According to the victim, his green 1997 Honda SUV vehicle was removed from his residence on Mohouli Street during the early evening hours of October 23, 2009. The vehicle was located later in the evening parked unattended on the Mohouli Extension about a hundred yards west of the Komohana Street intersection with extensive damages to its exterior.

Police ask that anyone who may have witnessed persons in or around the vehicle to call Officer Donovan Kohara at 961-2213 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
