‘Look Good Feel Better’ at Kona Community Hospital

MEDIA RELEASE

Kona Community Hospital is participating in the “Look Good Feel Better” program sponsored by the American Cancer Society.

Through this program, an ACS representative and a licensed cosmetologist will lead small groups through practical, hands-on beauty experiences.

Women who are receiving chemotherapy or radiation treatments learn about make-up techniques, skin care, nail care, and options related to hair loss such as wigs, turbans, and scarves.

Each group participant will receive a free cosmetic kit for use during and after the workshop. The retail cost of the kit is $200.

The first “Look Good Feel Better” workshop is 1-3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29 at Kona Community Hospital’s Radiation Oncology Clinic. Workshops are limited to 10 participants.

To register, contact Carlo Mireles, American Cancer Society’s Community Manager for Health Initiatives, at 333-9338.
