The Hawai’i Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a burglary suspect.

A man forced his way into a gas station on Kilauea Avenue in Hilo on June 3 and stole two cases of beer.

The man was captured on a surveillance video. His face was covered but he was wearing rubber slippers, denim shorts and a blue shirt with the letters “CTU’ on the back. After the burglary, he fled in an unknown direction in a silver four-door sedan.

Police ask that anyone who knows his identity or has any information about the case call Detective Norbert Serrao at 961-2383 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
