Craft artists invited to submit for juried show

MEDIA RELEASE 

Craft artists are encouraged to submit work for the Hawaii Craftsmen’s Statewide Juried 42nd Annual Exhibition.  

More than $4,000 will be awarded by juror Helen Drutt. Other invited artists include: Fiber, Liz Train; Mixed Media, Chris Reiner; and Wood, Bill Ichinose.

Drutt is an international expert and recognized as one of the world’s most important authorities in contemporary craft. She has served as a panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts and continues to lecture internationally.  

She was appointed as a member to the International Academy of Ceramics, Geneva, Switzerland; Advisory Committee, Peter Dormer Lecture, Royal College of Art, London; Advisory Committee, Montreal Museum of Art, Canada; Friends of the Museum Het Kruithuis’s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands; and Curatorial Consultant, Design Museum, Helsinki, Finland.  

There is no admission charge for her lecture.

Deliver Work: 12-2 p.m.

Juror Lecture: 3:30 p.m.

Pick up Artwork & Pot Luck: After Juror Lecture

* West Hawaii 

Date: Friday, Oct. 2

Deliver Work: 12:30-2:30 p.m.

Location: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa Keauhou III Ballroom, 930-4900

Juror Lecture: 4 p.m.
