THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HONOLULU HAS ISSUED A RED FLAG WARNING…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 5 PM HST THIS AFTERNOON. THE FIRE WEATHER WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
LOW FUEL MOISTURE LEVELS AND STRONG TRADE WINDS WILL CREATE THE POSSIBILITY OF CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
A RED FLAG WARNING MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EITHER OCCURRING NOW…OR WILL SHORTLY. A COMBINATION OF STRONG WINDS…LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY…AND WARM TEMPERATURES WILL CREATE RAPID FIRE GROWTH POTENTIAL.
