If tonight’s game is any indication of this year’s girls volleyball season, the rest of the league should beware of Waiakea’s power and depth. In the season opener Waiakea started off with a bang against the host team, the St. Joseph Cardinals.

St. Joseph is in a rebuilding year after losing the majority of their starters from last year while Waiakea brings back nearly all of their 2008 BIIF Championship team. Waiakea’s height and depth proved to be a large obstacle for the young but spirited St. Joseph team.
