BIIF girls volleyball schedule 2009-10

I. Divisions:

* WEST Division (12 regular season games) : Kealakehe, Hawaii Prep, Honokaa, Kohala, Konawaena, Laupahoehoe, Parker

* EAST Division (14 regular season games): Kamehameha, Keaau, Waiakea, Christian Liberty, Hilo, Ka’u, Pahoa, St. Joseph’s

II. BIIF Tournament Format: 

* Teams joining or dropping from league play PRIOR to first BIIF game may adjust tournament size.

* Teams joining or dropping from league AFTER the first BIIF game will not adjust tournament size.

* Changes in HHSAA Tournament size may result in adjustments to BIIF tournaments. 

* Division I – Four teams qualify for tournament   (3 East / 1 West)

Day #1: OFF

Day #2: Game #1: East #3 vs East #1 (at BIIF site); Game #2: East #2 vs West #1 (at BIIF site) 

Day #3: Game #3: winner game #1 vs winner game #2 (at BIIF site); Winner of game #3 is BIIF Div. I Champion; Loser of game #3 is BIIF Div. I 2nd place 

* Division II  Eight teams qualify for tournament  (4 East / 4 West)

Day #1: Game #1: East #4  @ West # 1 (at home site); Game #2: West #3 @ East #2 (at home site); Game #3: West #4 @ East #1 (at home site); Game #4: East #3 @ West #2 (at home site) –  Teams will be re-seeded after 1st round IF all 4 schools advancing are from ‘same side’ of the BIIF. 

Day #2: Game #5: winner game #1 vs winner game #2  (at BIIF site);Game #6: winner game #3 vs winner game #4  (at BIIF site) 

Day #3: Game #7: loser game #5 vs loser game #6  (at BIIF site); Game #8: winner game #5 vs winner game #6  (at BIIF site); Winner of game #8 is BIIF Div. II Champion; Loser of game #8 is BIIF Div. II 2nd place, Winner of game #7 is BIIF Div. II 3rd place; Loser of game #7 is BIIF Div. II 4th place 

III. Play-off Procedure for Ties following Regular Season play: 

* If two or more teams are tied after regular season play for the last play-off spot (in either Division) then the teams will play-off for the position.  (coin flip for site(s)) 

* If two or more teams are tied after regular season play for positions #1 through next to last play-off spot (in either Division) then the following will be used to determine positions: 

1. Head-to-head results from regular season.

2. Total point differential in matches played between teams involved.

3. Fewest points allowed in matches played between teams involved.

4. Fewest points allowed throughout entire BIIF season.

5. DRAW
