Families gathered Saturday for a some fun as the new school year kicks off.
Kealakekua Ranch Center hosted ‘Back to School Boogie,’ a morning of activities, games, entertainment and ice cream treats to celebrate heading back to the classroom.Â
In addition to free airbrush tattoos and free balloons, keiki had the chance to climb aboard for a pony ride or test their vertical skills on the rock-climbing wall.Â
Meanwhile, students from West Hawaii Dance Academy and Dance Hawaii Dance Club showed off their talents.
They performed ballet, hula, tap, jazz and hip hop.Â
Visiting professional ballerina Soili Arvola presented a special hula number, accompanied by Greg Knapp.Â
A canned food drive benefited the Kuakini Hawaiian Civic  Club Food Drive.
The event was free for youngsters and their families.
