The 2009 University of Hawaii at Hilo volleyball season starts this weekend with the annual Alumni game to be played at 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 22 in the UHH gymnasium.

Eight home matches are slated for the UHH gymnasium – Chaminade University (Sept. 17), Brigham Young University-Hawaii (Sept. 19), Notre Dame de Namur University (Oct. 13-14), Dominican University (Oct. 17), Academy of Art University (Oct. 23-24) and Hawaii Pacific University (Nov. 7).

Season tickets for the 2009 season are $50 and available at the UHH Athletic Ticket Office or by calling 974-7702.

The Vulcans are on the road to face St. Martin’s University (Sept. 1), Seattle Pacific University (Sept. 2), Dominican (Sept. 26), Grand Canyon University (Sept. 29-30), Dixie State College (Oct. 2-3), Hawaii Pacific (Oct. 10), Chaminade (Oct. 30) and BYU-Hawaii (Oct. 31). They are also participating in the Nanook Classic (Sept. 4-5) hosted by Alaska-Fairbanks.

The also face five opponents in neutral sites on Oahu – Adelphi University (Aug. 27), Cal State East Bay (Aug. 28), Montana State University-Billings (Aug. 29), University of Alaska-Anchorage (Sept. 11) and University of Alaska-Fairbanks (Sept. 12).
