A power line went down Monday afternoon on Waianuenue Avenue between Hospice of Hilo and Hilo Medical Center. Power was out in the area and the downed lines started a grass fire next to the roadway. HELCO crews along with Oceanic Time Warner Cable crews are on scene to power-down the lines and make repairs.

Traffic was re-routed through Rainbow Drive. Fire/rescue crews along with police blocked the roadway while the live power line was energized.
