Kona Village Resort garners three awards

MEDIA RELEASE

The Hawaii chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA Hawaii) honored the best in public relations with its 26th annual PRSA Hawaii Koa Anvil Awards recently. From nearly 120 entries, a record 61 Koa Anvil and Hammer awards were presented to recognize excellence in both public relations programs and tactics, respectively.

Kona Village Resort, represented by Current Events, a strategic communications agency on the Big Island, received three awards.

A Koa Anvil Award of Excellence was presented for the resort’s “Green for Decades” public relations campaign that brought media and consumer awareness to the resort’s long-standing eco-practices.

Kona Village’s repeat guest postcard campaign, a series of four postcards that played on the senses of smell, taste, touch and sight, was recognized with a Koa Hammer Award.

The resort’s “Hai Olelo Ma Kaupulehu, Storytelling at Kaupulehu” turndown cards, came home with a Koa Hammer Award of Excellence.

“These awards validate the hard work of many individuals who work diligently to find innovative ways to elevate awareness of Kona Village while also enhancing every guest’s experience at our resort,” general manager Ulrich Krauer said. “We are so pleased that Kona Village’s public relations and communications efforts are being recognized.”

According to PRSA Hawaii president Kristen Bonilla, “The Koa Anvil awards stand for the work of many savvy professionals in the public relations industry who often work behind the scenes on behalf of their clients and employers.”
