The finalists will meet with the University community and public beginning Tuesday, July 21.

The finalists and their interview dates are: Dexter Irwin, Dixie State College Athletic Director, July 21; Joshua Doody, Notre Dame de Namur University Athletic Director, July 23; and Dr. Troy Franklin, former Mid-Plains Community College Area Associate Dean of Student Life and former New Mexico State University Associate Athletic Director for Student Development.

“UH Hilo’s student-athletes deserve the best leadership possible, and the search committee has continued to pursue the highest standards of excellence in this search process,” said Dr. Luoluo Hong, vice chancellor for student affairs and acting athletic director. “While it has taken longer than we expected, we believe that the best outcomes are worth waiting for.”

A reception for the public to meet the finalists has been scheduled on each of the three interview dates. Interested members of the community should contact Audrey Hirayama, secretary for the Office of Intercollegiate Athletics, at 974-7520 to confirm attendance.

Over 100 applications were received for the position of athletic director.
