Surfer medevaced from Manuka State Park after smashing against rocks

MEDIA RELEASE

Fire/Rescue personnel responded to a 2:46 p.m. alarm Saturday (July 18) to Manuka State Park for a surfer who was smashed against rocks.

Bystanders brought the man, approximately in his 40s, out of the ocean at the park and started CPR on him. The Fire Department’s Chopper Two airlifted the man to Kona Community Hospital. No details on the victim’s condition were released.
