Waimea fitness pro certified as Russian kettleball instructor

MEDIA RELEASE

Bill Case, of Five Mountain Fitness in Waimea, has achieved international certification as a Russian kettlebell instructor.

This accomplishment recognizes Case as one of an elite group of fitness professionals worldwide and the only RKC certified kettlebell instructor on the Big Island.

Kettlebells are cast iron weights resembling cannonballs with handles that date back to 18th century Russian strongman training routines, later adopted by Olympic competitors and elite units of the Russian military.

Exercises using kettlebells are designed to provide a total body workout by raising a person’s heart rate and targeting major muscle groups.

America was introduced to kettlebells by Russian Special Forces trainer Pavel Tsatsouline, who brought his passion with him to the U.S.A. in 2000.  Tsatsouline later founded the demanding 23-hour RKC certification program recently completed by Case.

Kettlebells have gained mainstream popularity in recent years through their association with high profile celebrities like Sylvester Stallone, Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey as well as leading NFL, Olympic, and MMA athletes, U.S. special forces and federal law enforcement.

Five Mountain Fitness offers kettlebell classes at 8:15 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and 4:30 p.m. Fridays at its training facility in Waimea for men and women of all ages and experience levels.

Five Mountain Fitness is a full service gym and fitness facility located near the Parker Ranch rodeo grounds in Waimea. In addition to a wide selection of strength and cardio equipment, classes are offered in diverse interests like kettlebells, Zumba, spinning, yoga, CHISEL, and Brazilian trampoline fitness.
