MEDIA RELEASE
Limited seating is still available for an international conference to evaluate the presidency of the nation’s 43rd President, George W. Bush, scheduled for July 29-31 at the University of Hawaii at Hilo.
The registration deadline is July 15.
A number of internationally renown presidential scholars will discuss a wide range of topics, including: Presidential Power; War Powers; Executive Appointments; Law; Judicial Relations; Media and the overall Bush Legacy.
The keynote address will feature Loyola Chair of Leadership, Dr. Michael A. Genovese, professor of political science and director of the Institute for Leadership Studies at Loyola University. Â
His address, “Sisyphus and Leviathan Meet Goldilocks and the Three Presidencies,†will contrast the constraints of the “routine†nature of much of what the president does with the expansion of presidential power during times of crisis.Â
Registration is required for all conference activities, except for the keynote address, which is free and open to the public. Â The $195 registration fee includes entry into all plenary sessions, panels and meals.Â
The first 50 Hawaii residents to register by the July 15 deadline pay a special kamaaina rate of $50.
