If you have nothing better to do this Saturday morning, go say ‘hey thanks.’:

Aloha All!

You are cordially invited to attend the formal donation of a new multi-purpose fire truck by the Ironman Foundation through co-operation of the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation to the Hawaii Fire Department’s Volunteer Fire Company 7-Bravo stationed on Kaiminani Drive in Lower Palisades.

The ceremony is 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27.

The Ford F350 super duty truck is valued at more than $55,000 and is a 4-wheel drive diesel engine automatic transmission flatbed with a Darley “fast attack” 300-gallon removable skid unit.

Kalaoa Volunteer Fire Company “7-Bravo” is 15 firefighters strong and currently operates three fire-fighting pieces (1 Engine, 1 Brush truck and 1 Tanker) and is one of the busiest volunteer companies in the county.

Company 7-Bravo has been in existence for more than 12 years and was instrumental in suppressing significant fires such as Ace Hardware, Kona Self Storage, both of the large Palisades brush fires, the nationally recognized Waikoloa brush fires plus numerous residential home fires, vehicle fires and also supported efforts during Hawaii’s 6.7 earthquake in 2006.

Saturday’s event includes:

* Presentation by the Ironman Foundation to the count

* Mahalo by the volunteer fire fighters of 7-Bravo to Ironman & the Sayre Foundation

* Demonstration of the new apparatus

* Open house of the station

* Hot dogs and refreshments
