Children’s program highlights water conservation

MEDIA RELEASE

Mary Robblee will present a children’s program on water conservation at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 24 at Kailua-Kona Public Library.

The presentation is in conjunction with the Summer Reading Program, but all ages are welcome.

By using simple food coloring, the Kona Soil and Water Conservation District’s water model will show that water does move underground and can impact oceans, lakes and streams.  You will get a sense for what can happen to our aquifers, the source of most of our drinking water in Hawaii, and our oceans if we do not protect the aquifers from pollution.

The event is sponsored by Friends of the Library, Kona.
