In honor of the first anniversary of Fumiko’s death (hatsubon), Grandma Teshima has donated funds for a scholarship in memory of her daughter.
Kona high school graduates are encouraged to apply. In two paragraphs or less, no more than 3/4th of a page, double spaced, please answer the following question:
How did Fumiko Teshima Ow impact the Kona community, and what can be done to continue her legacy?

Include your name, address, phone number, email address, 2009 graduate of which West Hawaii high school, and college you will be attending this fall.

The amount of the scholarship will be up to $1,000. However, if there is more than one winner, the Scholarship Committee reserves the right to present scholarships to two or more students. The student must be a graduate of the Class of 2009 from a high school in West Hawaii, and attending an accredited college this fall. The West Hawaii Bar Association is administering this scholarship on behalf of the Fumiko Teshima Trust, Grandma Shizuko Teshima, Trustee.
