Kona Book Club meets June 16

MEDIA RELEASE

Kona Library Book Club meets at 11 a.m Tuesday, June 16 on the lanai of the Kailua-Kona Library.

This month’s selection is “Run,” the latest novel from Ann Patchett, the author of “Bel Canto” and “The Patron Saint of Liars.” It is the story of an unusual Boston family -the widowed former mayor of that city and his three sons, two of whom are adopted black biological brothers.

“Run” is about the power of family, and the surprising ways in which families can intersect. It is about politics, class, race, attachment and parenthood love.

Light refreshments will be served. All readers are welcome to attend.

The Book Club will meet in July to discuss “The Alchemist,” by Paulo Coelho.

The book club is sponsored by Friends of the Libraries, Kona and participants are encouraged to become FOLK members.
